Blind test results: what olives are the best?
In the May PROMO Food Service magazine, you will find the best selection of ingredients for the summer menu. We asked PROMO Food Service customers to test five varieties of olives in the "Seafood and Snacks" Master Class. 18 customers participated in the blind testing and the results are now known.
We tested the two most important indicators:
· taste and aroma
· texture and consistency
We set up a typical blind test situation, where only a number was placed next to the bowl, the meaning of which was known only to the organizer of the blind test, and in order to maintain objectivity, we asked our customers to test and evaluate the pass based on a certain criterion. This time, five products were selected for the blind test:
No. 1 - C018195 - ELITA, Olives, green, pitted, L size, 820g/400g
No. 2 - U411327 - Green olives RISTORIS Bella di Cerignola 1.65kg
No. 3 - C057712 - Green small olives with stones KARINA.3895ml/2350g
No. 4 - U411326 - Green olives RISTORIS Nocellara, large 1.65kg
No. 5 - FG00982 - LE BONTA DEL CASALE Green olives glass jar 314 ml
According to 18 people, the results are as follows:
1. The winner of the blind test is product No. 3 - KARINA small green olives with stones. 3895ml/2350g
· The average rating for taste and aroma was 4.3 and the rating for texture and consistency was 4.0. Therefore, the average rating of the product was 4.1
2. The second place in the blind test belongs to product no. 1 - ELITA, Olives, green, pitted, size L, 820g/400g
· The average rating for taste and aroma was 4.05 and the rating for texture and consistency was 4.0. Therefore, the average rating of the product was 4.02
3. Third place went to product no. 2, i.e. Green olives RISTORIS Bella di Cerignola 1.65kg
· Theaverage rating for taste and aroma was 3.6 and the rating for texture and consistency was 3.4. Therefore, the average rating for the product was 3.52
